a sunday smile, we wore it for a while

(A Sunday Smile: Beirut)

in fact, i think you're pretty swell...can't you tell?

Let's just cut to the chase- Nutella cupcakes with Nutella filling and Nutella buttercream frosting (and attractive iridescent purple sparkling sugar). I ate one and this was my reaction. At my current baking rate (for real though, our kitchen is quickly becoming my own personal confectionery), I predict my entire family and I will have gained at least five pounds by the end of the summer.

Tonight will be spent waiting (not-so) patiently for Pottermore. My heart's a-fluttering just thinking about it.

and sometimes it's nice to be thought of as that

when f-bombs make my heart happy

So I don't know why I'm just now seeing this video, but DAMN, I love it. Like, my immediate reaction is just like...fist-pumping and a loud exclamation of "YES!". I really like little kids swearing, and enjoy all of the offended comments on this video because of it.

i have a lot of them, okay?

then i'll dig a tunnel from my window to yours

(I drew this a while ago and am still proud of it, mainly because I haven't drawn anything else to be proud of since.)

Still a little bit dazzled from Arcade Fire's livestream from Bonnaroo on Saturday. I don't understand why I still haven't seen them in concert yet. It physically pains me sometimes. For now, I just have to pretend I'm Regine as I drive home and essentially scream out the entirety of Funeral while pretending my steering wheel is Jeremy Gara's drum set.

I'd really just like to have her as my wife or something. So I can steal her fantastic sparkly dresses and listen to her sing in French all the time. I don't think that's too much to ask. (Consider this my marriage proposal.)

have you seen her all in gold like a queen in days of old

The thrill will probably wear off once I become like...a mother who does this all the time (not that I'm becoming a mother anytime soon, but...you know.), but I LOVE baking things all by myself. I get annoyingly controlling when I bake with others (Sadie can probably testify to this), so I spare others the irritation and give myself complete culinary control. And of course, there's the immense pride (and subsequent confidence killer when nobody but Sadie will eat my cupcakes). Anyway, I'm extremely proud of them and also want to elope with my new set of icing bags and decorating tips.

Also- Dianna Agron appreciation day. I love her so much it hurts.

the girl's insane but you can't complain

I like old pictures- me as a 3 year old devouring a Baskin Robbins rather animatedly, some old Hico, TX football studs, irritated, suffering-from-heat-exhaustion youngsters at the State Fair, my mom's old prom dates who I don't know, etc.

(Hipshake Heartbreak: Satin Gum)

oh, she bit her dog, eh?

Natalie and I as Dorothy/The Wicked Witch of the West for a video my sister made for a contest. Do take a look, she's quite good.

now the cities we live in could be distant stars

I used to be (much like Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker) kind of a pretentious douchebag, so much so that I would very rarely wear t-shirts out. I soon realized how much I was missing, and I've now acquired a nice collection of well-designed, non-ugly t-shirts (and will welcome more once I can get my hands on them).

Regarding Mother Monster in the last post- Holy Gaga, this album is fantastic. Anyone who hasn't scooped it up yet (is there anyone?), do it. What an amazing lady. Also watch her MTV interview/TV special. GAH drools all over everywhere- she's just a goddess made of awesome.

arcade fire store shirt, anthropologie belt, american apparel skirt, vintage shoes, anthropologie headband

(Suburban War: Arcade Fire)
(I'm wearing the shirt after all)
